Presidents Update:

  • From Mike:
  • Dave king has requested funding for Bella Coola 1000 and Cache Creek 600, for a support person. Discussion about how much riders should subsidize the support person’s expenses. Propose: No additional funding for the 1000, could raise entry fee to give subsidy; but $600 for the 600. Accepted.
  • Discussion about service provided to the event organizer in a pre-ride, the participants don’t need to volunteer for the event. For a Populaire, can do a pre-ride and then the ride if the rider signs up twice. Cannot do this for a brevet.
  • Discussion about control locations. Discussion about information that goes on the control card, to be found at controls.

Financials:

  • $9800 in chequing, which is about where we should be. We are staying afloat.
  • 198 members. Discussion about membership.
  • Insurance has been paid. Have a draft Insurance FAQ for perusal before posting. Thanks to Mike, Deirdre, and Murray to being open to e-transfers.

Fleche:

  • Reminder that it is upcoming. Registration deadline is May 11th.

  • Nothing to report for Interior or Island
  • Chris has concerns about control cards for the Lower Mainland. Mike will forward Chris’s email for the board to see.

Website:

  • Still ongoing. Deirdre has a lot on her plate at the moment
  • Still need a write-up to thank Eric for his years of service

Awards:

  • All the trophies are ready except the Randy Benz award (climbing): Bob Goodison has it, and took care of engraving it. He will bring it to the Fleche.
  • If we have some old Fleche and Trace pins, Colin will bring them.

Marketing:

  • Nothing to report. Will be able to give it more attention next month.

Cypress:

  • As a method of promotion: Attend the Cypress Challenge.
  • Cost: come with your own team, at $100 entry each, minimum 10 people, and can have a tent at the top. Cost for tent only is $3500, going as a sponsor.
