For the 2nd year in a row, we had great weather for this ride, so saw 13 starters for a balmy September South Island jaunt. Brynne Croy did a solo pre-ride on Tuesday the 6th, and was there bright and early on Sunday morning to do registrations, and offer ride tips. Thank you Brynne and Steven, as always, for your energy and enthusiasm. Thanks also, to Stephen and Carol Hinde that hosted the Secret Control in Sooke, to Dave MacMurchie that did the paperwork configurations, and to Sandy Stedman and Rob Scrimgeour for photography.

Of our 13 starters, 2 were brand new to randonneuring, so we congratulate Mike Carter and Jared Price for a strong finish, despite some time challenges in the morning with wardrobe and bike configurations. Ken Bonner also had a few bike adjustments through the day, but was cheerful as ever at the pie finish. Congratulations to all that started and had good rides no matter the distance. I was grateful to those of you that gathered after the ride, sharing your stories and laughter at the house, and giving this organizer some warm memories.
