3 riders braved perfect conditions on the challenging mid-Island route. Mid afternoon temperatures were moderated by scattered clouds and cross-tail winds. The riders faced many challenges: quiet roads, wonderful scenery, serenading birds, but their greatest hurdle came just 39km into the event, when the organizer forced them to eat freshly baked cinnamon buns at the BeanTime in Ladysmith..
