Tsunami "2"
Pre-ride This was not a submission - just a message from Graham. It sounds like he, Luke and Devon had a wonderful ride on the new route. [Eric F] By the way, I just rode the Tsunami 300 pre-ride yesterday. If you are sufficiently recovered from your recent epic, give this pioneering route some thought. It does a beautiful 300 km loop from Brentwood Bay, up island to Cowichan Lake and then traverses Vancouver Island and drops down into Port Renfrew. The last section of this 4-wheel drive road was finally paved last week providing a great route for us adventurous cyclists. After Port Renfrew, the route simply follows the west coast to Sooke and Victoria where we stopped in at Ray and Amanda's for tea and a bite to eat. Luke, Devon and I then finished off the grand loop by cycling around the Saanich peninsula and ending up in Brentwood Bay. During the ride, we enjoyed various side trips including hiking around huge Sitka Spruce trees, sitting on the deck of the Port Renfrew Hotel, watching the surf in Jordan River, visiting Ray and many other eating establishments. This may become a classic ranndonneur cycling loop unparalleled in variety and beauty. Go to: Devon's pre-ride photos
