Notes from your organizer, Jeff, August 20, 2014:
There have been some changes to the 600 route in the last week, most notably the start/finish. The new start location is the Tim Horton's at 2635 Barnet Highway, in Coquitlam, at 06:00. Although the address is Barnet Highway, access is from Runnel Drive, which is the street running parallel to Barnet to the North. It is accessed from Falcon Drive or Lansdowne Drive. Runnel is also where you will find parking, as overnight parking is not permitted in the lot.
Late arrivals to the start may find me having breakfast at the Coquitlam Grill, next to the Tim Horton's. This is the location for the finish.
I'll be staffing a control at the Quality Inn hotel in Merritt (359km.) There is an event on in town, and there were almost no rooms available, so I have booked two rooms that will be set up as PBP-style dorms. The beds can be shared and I will have additional mats and blankets to make sure everybody can get some rest if needed. We will be exceeding the usual occupancy of these rooms, so if you plan to use the shower please consider packing a towel in your drop bag.
I will not be providing food at the control (maybe some drinks though.) There is an all night Tim Horton's in Merritt, just after leaving Hwy 5, about 200m before the control. There is a 7-11 store about 2km past the control. And there will be a bag-drop. Please plan accordingly.
