David Hume - 200 km August 18, 7 a.m. Ride Organizer: Start:
Vancouver - Britannia Community Centre Parking Lot (near Commercial and Venables) Notes from Organizer Kevin: Apparently the Patullo Bridge will be closed this weekend for maintenance. So, I'm changing the route for this Saturday's 200. I want to keep it simple, and make it an out-and-back with no fuss, so it's simply going to run up the Sea to Sky Highway to Garibaldi, then turn around and come back. A change of route warrants a change of name, so it will no longer be the Thomas Hobbes 200 but instead will be called the David Hume 200. Hume (1711 - 1776) was an empiricist, but equally important he was a Scotsman. The Scots have a history making things difficult for themselves, so the switch from a flat to a hilly route seems to make sense. It will start in the Britannia Community Centre parking lot and finish at Zawa's restaurant (where they serve cold beer on the patio) located at Commercial and Venables. Sign up on Rando Pony today.
