Not So Easy Dave flew back from Spain on Saturday and hit the road on Sunday riding a 200 km permanent. After the ride he checked in with the message below. I said it should be in the newsletter. He said ok. [Eric F] Hi Eric - Well that was a somewhat underrated adventure. I woke naturally at 0430 on Monday. What was supposed to be a dry day as per vancouver weather underground turned out to be not so dry all the way past Iona. Luckily I packed the rain jacket and put it on under the cover of the Canada Sails complex. I was not completely myself, perhaps from the travelling, and being stuck in planes for 14 hours on Sunday along with everyone else and their bugs, but things seemed to be going alright. Then, just past Garry Point Park I decided to eat a sandwich while riding along the Fraser River. That was it. My stomach turned on me, and I managed to consume only 2 brownies for the rest of the ride. I was belching and felt generally blah and fatigued for the rest of the ride. I was hoping, by riding Monday, to avoid any salting the cities would be doing in advance of the cooler weather forecast for Monday night. Richmond and PoCo were out and they had hit a few roads ahead of me (Garry Point, where I almost got brined myself by the truck travelling in the opposite direction to me), Westminster Hwy to Fraserwood, River Road (only the westbound lane) and Argue Street of all things. I think they do the quieter roads during the day and then head out on the normally busy major roads into the night. I got home and immediately had to lay down on the kitchen floor where I almost fell asleep, and the rest of the evening I was completely gassed. I went to bed at 830pm and did not rise from bed until after 10 this morning. Today is the rest day, and Wed/Thur are work days for me. That is it from my end. Hope you are doing well. Control card attached. - Dave
