and Gary Baker on the road to Sooke. The VanIsle "Eau de
Hell" week was a randonneur series (200, 300, 400 &
600 km brevets), usually spaced over 6 or seven weeks, compressed
into seven days. Seven riders, including series organizer Ken
Bonner, completed all four events. All have earned early qualification
for Paris Brest Paris. It's worth noting that photographer Ray
Parker stood, balancing unsupported on the railing, to get this
shot.
