The original version of the bumble bee jersey was designed for PBP 1991. Note the 1991 club pin design (by Dan McGuire) on the sleeve.

The jersey design itself is another matter. I asked Harold to look into this and here's the word: "Eric, I spoke to Dan McG tonight. He thinks David Johnstone got the woman who ran the clothing company in Ontario to come up with the original design of the "Bumble Bee" jersey. H." (EF - March 2002)

The above is probably not true, or at least not the full story. In 2014 Michel Richard discovered a jersey warn by the Belgian pro team Verandalux–Dries in the 1980s. It's almost identical to our jersey. So I guess we borrowed it. More info in the 2014 newsletter HERE. (EF - March 2021)
