RANDONNEUR 5000
(formerly the "Brevet de Randonneur 5000")
To receive a 5000 pin a rider must complete
5000 km in official randonneur events within four years. This
5000 km must include one ride at each distance in a basic series
(200, 300, 400, and 600 km), a 1000 km, a Flèche Velocio or equivalent (Flèche Pacifique in BC, 360+ km), and a Paris - Brest - Paris (1200 km).
You will notice that this adds up to 4060 km. Riders can choose
any combination of randonneur events (200 km or more) to bring
the total up to 5000 km. The name change referenced above happenning in 2007. |

SUPER RANDONNEUR
A Super Randonneur is a rider who completes
a brevet at each of the distances in a basic series (200, 300,
400, and 600 km) in one season. |

RANDONNEUR 1000
To earn the Randonneur 1000 medal a rider
must have completed rides of 100, 200, and 300 km plus any combination
of other rides adding up to the remaining 400 km, bringing the
total up to 1000 km. A rider could have substituted a longer
ride for a required shorter ride.
This award was discontinued after
the 2003 season but was brought back just before the 2004 season
with new, somewhat relaxed criteria: Minimum of 3 rides 100 kms
or over, one ride must be at least 300 kms, and a successfully
completed flèche could be used but would count only as
360 km regardless of actual distance. The award was discontinued
after the 2004 season. |

RANDONNEUR 500
The Randonneur 500 medal was awarded to
riders who completed rides of 50, 100, 150, and 200 km, for a
total of 500 km. A rider could have substituted a longer ride
for a required shorter ride.
This award was discontinued after
the 2003 season but was brought back just before the 2004 season
with new, somewhat relaxed criteria: Minimum of 3 rides 100 kms
or over, one ride must be at least 200 kms, and a successfully
completed flèche could be used but would count only as
360 km regardless of actual distance. The award was discontinued
