Notes from Jim Runkel (on the forum June 1, 2012):

Come and join our internation rider Yutaka, flying in from Japan to ride this event.
The ride will start from my house at 3a and I will serve you a hearty pancake breakfast at 2a
The route is slightly adjusted, by going up the pennisula to Sidney first, and then up island. Also it will not go all the way to Port Alberni, but turn around at the Gas Station on the Alberni Hwy used on the Lost but not Forgotten Hell Week 400.
In the middle you will visit the nice town of Youbou as per last years 1000
The end brings you into Victoria and finally to the house of Mike Croy.
---
In Gold River, the Chalet is staffed 24hrs and the Deli is open 530a to 11p according to the phone call made by Mike to these establishments.
---
Rando Pony is ready to ride...so sign up and tell me your favourite pancake toppings!
---
Mike and I will be looking after a few controls on Saturday.

If any up island folks want to man a control to cheer on our intrepid riders, just send me an email and we can work out the details.

If not, the ride will proceed as per most 1000's - unsupported in the true spirit of our great sport.
