Dave King rode the popular "Take It Easy" permanent on March 5. There's some major construciton on the route now. Riders might need to find alternate ways through. Here's the scoop... [EF]

Alright.....route info. Well, the first I can think of is Spanish Banks area. The potholes, especially around the drains, continue to be huge. Climbing the hill to UBC, the road is littered with the middle of the road markers, likely scraped off by the snowplows. I dont understand that business model at all. The road to the north side of the mall at YVR continues to have that large core drilled in it. though somebody has thrown some rocks in there. Still a big bloody hole though. the Iona road is completely finished as far as I can tell. Rice Mill road corner off of 5 Rd in lower Richmond has a massive gravel deposit. Rice Mill road is undergoing construction and I have never seen that much gravel in one spot before. Crazy. Sidaway, north of ?Blundell? (the only stop on Sidaway) is closed going north. Had to detour over to 6 Rd and go north from there. 6 Road is pockmarked. River Rd, heading back towards Vancouver has some really ugly wheel-eaters. Kent ave bike path through most of Vancouver rattles teeth out with all those roots coming through. Barnet was really nice for this early in the new year...pretty clean. Thats it.

This is good intel Dave. I know some of this, but it sounds like I will need to manage some new challenges when I ride this later this month. You didn’t mention New West. I keep expecting the new Pattullo project to give us some fresh detours. I guess we’re still ok there for now.

I think other riders will appreciate the info. Let’s put it in the newsletter.

Sounds good. New West is the same....one block up from Front Street. The bridge is coming along.
