Haney (7 @ Laity) 84 (75 hour limit) |
This is one of the original 1000 km routes. It was Dan McGuire's idea and was first used in 1987 by four riders including Dan and Harold Bridge. The start point was a 24 hour restaurant somewhere in east Haney. (The Haney 7-11 start point in yellow, below, will give you a distance quite close to 1000 km.) In June 2003, Réal Préfontaine organized an Abbotsford start version. The group rode to Cache Creek on day 1 (324 km), to Williams Lake and back to CC on day 2 (410 km), and then back to Abbotsford on day 3 (273 km). Find a link to Réal's '03 route (above).
